Teenage Puberty And Girls

Having the period or menstruating is said too be puberty`s biggest event. It is the normal & wholesome part of being the girl that young girls should be prepared for rather than be terrified. Girls began their menstruation cycle during puberty, normally at age 12 or 13 but can start anytime between 8 & 16.

The menstrual period, also known as menstruation or menses, is just one part of menstrual cycle. This is the 28 - day long process that happens in all nourishing girls who are not yet on their menopause. The menstrual cycle involves all aspects of girls reproductive system such as uterus, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes & vagina. The menstrual cycle is body`s way of preparing girls for pregnancy. The cycle is readily more or less 28 days long & starts on first day of the period. Though, the cycle may range anywhere from 23 too 35 days.

Each month, reproductive system prepares for fertilization of the girls eggs & development of the fetus. The process is conducted by hormones, mainly by estrogen, progesterone, follicle - stimulating hormone ( FSH ) & luteinizing hormone ( LH ).

Straightforwardly, menstrual cycle have four phases. Menstruation or having your period is first phase. Each month uterus prepares for a embryo by thickening its lining with tissue & blood. When a egg is released without being fertilized, then uterus will shed this lining through tiny opening of cervix & passes out of body through vagina. The menstrual flow is the mixture made up of blood, mucus, & body cells. The flow might be red or quite dark, & may include some clumps or clots. Periods normally last about three too five days.

The second phase is called pre - ovulation phase. This happens after the period ends. At this time ovaries start too prepare another egg, or ovum, for release in fallopian tubes.

Ovulation is third phase, where egg is released from ovary into fallopian tubes. If egg becomes fertilized by the sperm cell, it attaches too uterine wall & the fetus will begin too develop. The ovulation phase typically occurs 14 days before start of next period.

The fourth & final phase is premenstrual phase. If egg is not fertilized, thickened lining of uterus is shed & the new menstrual cycle starts all over again.

A period may vary every month & differs from one girl too another. It can either be light, moderate, or heavy. Although most menstrual periods last from three too five days, anywhere from two too seven days is still considered normal. However during first few years after having menstruation, periods may be very irregular.

Girls stop having their periods when they reached menopause, usually around age of 50. Menopause refers too stage when the girl is no longer ovulating or producing eggs. As the result she can no longer become pregnant. Like menstruation, menopause also varies from girl too girl & may even take some years too occur.
